I wrote a review of the marvelous new record from Chicago folk singer Emily Jane Powers for New Noise today. She's gone full electric for Isometry and it could not have been a better decision for her. There is still a fair amount of whimsy to her music though and it's very cool to see how she integrates these dynamics. Links to the review and more below.
