Album Review: Pyrrhon - Abscess Time

My review of the new album Abscess Time from the NYC death metal and free jazz, duel wielding worries Pyrrhon is up over on Post-Trash today. It's a startling and technically adept exploration of the worldwide malady that is Capital through disjointed poly-rhythms and lung-emptying howls. Album Review: Yawners - Just Calm Down

Sometimes to find really great pop-punk you've got to go abroad. I've got a review of last year's sweet and sunny, tender emo-core inspired LP from Spain's Yawners, titled Just Calm Down ready for your reading pleasure. I liked this record so much that I felt compelled to write a review for it even though it dropped back in 2019. Album Review: Human Impact - Human Impact

I've got a write up of the debut album from Human Impact, the new project from Chris Spencer of Unsane over at Post-Trash today. Spencer describes the album as a taste of the old NYC noise scene before it was raised to make way for condos and Air BnB scams. I wasn't there of course, but it does sound like an album that could have shared shelve space with the best releases from DNA ars and Sonic Youth back in the day. Album Review: Ruin Lust - Choir of Babel

The new album from NYC Death Metal band, Ruin Lust is out now and you can read my review over at Post-Trash. It's crusty, it's chaotic, it's cruel, and I can't stop listening to it. Usually, it goes without saying that a death metal album is angry sounding, but it bears repeating because Choir of Babel is mad as hell! This album is pissed off and looking for a god damned fight! Album Review: Acrylics - Sinking In

Post-Trash has published my review of the Acrylic's debut album Sinking In. Part crust punk, part journey-man hardcore, these guys make an incredibly relatable racket. I enjoyed Sinking In quite a bit and if you dig on KEN Mode mode but wish they sounded dirtier, then I bet you will as well. Review can be found here. Album Review: Gatecreeper - Deserted

With the festival of spirits almost upon us, I figured it was as good a time as any to share my review of Deserted the new album from phenomenal Arizonian death metallers Gatecreeper. Gatecreeper have a highly engaging and surprisingly fresh take on the OG Swedish death metal sound, with heavy punk influences, and thoroughly adapted for the arid landscape which they call home. Deserted is a real treat for fans of all things gruesome and grisly this All Hallows Eve. Thanks to Dan Goldin of Post-Trash for publishing my thoughts on the album. Link to article below.
