Column: New Noise’s Juneteenth Bandcamp Picks

I wrote a list of recent albums by contemporary black rock artists for New Noise today in recognition of Juneteenth and Bandcamp's Juneteenth fundraiser. The fundraiser gives Bandcamp's share of sales to the NAACP. The NAACP isn't perfect but they still do a lot of good work, and the amount of money raised through this kind of effort isn't a lot, but it's not nothing either. More to the point of my article, black rock artists (and non-white rock artists in general) are next to invisible within the genre. It's a total shame because some of the most innovative rock music coming out now is made by people who are kept at arm's length by the industry as a whole. I'm happy to do a minor course-correct with lists like this. This is a very small gesture. It doesn't honestly count for much, but if this article puts a black artist on your radar who wasn't there before, I've done my job. See the full list at the links below:
